Tour de PIF puts breaks on homelessness

Property professionals joined the Property Industry Foundation, National Event Sponsor, The GPT Group, and Victorian Event Sponsor, Secure Parking, for the 7th annual Melbourne Tour de PIF. Strong support from the industry meant fundraising alone reached over $125,000 to help build homes for homeless youth.

On 15 November, perfect weather conditions made for a great day out for everyone, with some personal bests achieved.  More than 220 riders from the property industry rode three great cycling courses – 30km, 55km or 75km.  The course wound its way through Victoria’s renowned wine region, the Yarra Valley.

Maugan Bastone was awarded the jersey for the Top Individual Fundraiser, having raised over $8,500.  Frasers Property Australia took the top team jerseys for raising a total of over $17,000.

The competition for the fastest time up the mountain was intense with these speedsters taking the titles: Renata Farah (Queen of the Mountain), Clint Perrett (King of the Mountain) and Slattery’s A Team (Team of the Mountain)

On the day, our special guests were UK Olympic cyclist Rob Hayles and Australia UCI World Team cyclist Simon Clarke. At the post-ride lunch at RACV Healesville Country Club, they spoke on their top-level riding experiences.
