Dennis Family Corporation digs deep for PIF
July 2019 VIC
The combined efforts of staff, sub-contractors, suppliers and a contribution from the company has seen the Dennis Family Corporation (DFC) raise its highest ever tally for the Property Industry Foundation’s annual National Hard Hat Campaign in support of homeless and at-risk young people.
DFC’s aggregate fundraising tally for 2019 of $32,515.79 was accumulated through a combination of voluntary donations from staff from their June pay, further donations from sub-contractors and suppliers, along with the proceeds from a number of special initiatives including a morning tea and raffle at the company’s Armadale office, and an online auction. The company also generously matched the amount raised via staff donations and the morning tea and raffle at Armadale.
“We were delighted to achieve our objective of passing the $30,000 mark for the first time this year,” DFC Founding Chairman, Bert Dennis said.
The Dennis Family has enjoyed a long association with PIF, with Bert having served the charity in a variety of roles at both a national and state level between 2008 and 2011. His his eldest daughter Adele is currently a member of PIF’s Victorian Board of Advisors, following her appointment last year.
“Our company has supported the National Hard Hat Campaign every year since its inception in 2009 and we have now donated a total of more than two hundred thousand dollars over the past decade,” Bert added.
DFC’s fundraising effort concluded with the morning tea and raffle for staff at the Armadale office on 13th June. The function was attended by approximately 80 staff members who enjoyed a selection of party pies, sausage rolls, mini quiches and cakes, with many also having their names drawn as winners of an array of prizes offered in a bumper raffle. More than $500 was raised from the morning tea and this sum was then matched by the company.
“Our staff members are great supporters of PIF’s National Hard Hat Campaign each year, whether through the donations they give from their pay or by getting behind the other special initiatives that form part of our overall fundraising effort,” Bert explained.
“One of our company values is caring and staff like to embrace that spirit of generosity to help others in need.”
