Construction Rocks hits the right beat for homeless youth

Management and consultancy services company, WSP, certainly knows how to innovate on fundraising. While it’s a Victorian Platinum Donor and NSW Gold Donor – it also established the construction industry’s own Battle of the Bands, Construction Rocks. The event has become a global phenomenon and rocks Melbourne on 24 Oct.

Started by WSP in London in 2007, it is now a global phenomenon, being staged also in Washington, Gothenburg, Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney. It started in Sydney in 2015 and then Melbourne in 2018. All the events are led by WSP and open to organisations across the construction industry.

Carly Djosovic, Marcomms Advisor, WSP, said that while the construction sector is not short of industry events, Construction Rocks offers a fun and relaxed environment to network with peers, while raising much-needed funds to build homes for homeless youth.

“Construction Rocks allows otherwise respectable members of the construction industry to let their hair down and realise their rock and roll dreams (even if it’s just for one night),” she said.

“It also provides us with an opportunity to give back to the community.”

“If you are a budding (or unearthed) rock star, why not form a band with your colleagues and register in the competition? Battle it out against the other organisations for the title of Melbourne Construction Rocks Champions.”
