Construction Rocks blitzes Melbourne

Construction Rocks blitzes Melbourne

On 24 October the industry’s finest musicians amped it up at the Prince Hotel, St Kilda, raising approximately $2,500 for PIF. It was an eclectic mix of music with The Clash Detectors, from Wood & Grieve Engineers, winning on the night.

Four bands battled it out: Deemed to Satisfy (WSP), The Clash Detectors (Wood & Grieve), Continental Drift (CJ Arms) and Jacqui and the Struts (Arup).

There was no doubt that The Clash Detectors were the crowd pleasers. Their rendition of The Jackson 5’s I Want You Back had the whole crowd singing and dancing.

WSP were runners up with the Audience Vote, done in total engineering fashion, by ‘sound monitoring devices’.

Alan Brough (of Spicks & Specks fame) was the MC and had everyone laughing.

You couldn’t have asked for a more qualified judging panel with Dave Williams (drummer from Augie March), Paulie Stewart (lead singer from Painters & Dockers) and musician Liam Gerner.

A massive thanks to Platinum Sponsor Autodesk, Gold Sponsor Fade Australia and tapas bar Bomba for providing the prize (a delicious dinner) for the winning band.

Thanks to everyone involved for making it all possible!
