Act for Kids Melbourne Centre officially opens to support families in Broadmeadows
Act for Kids has officially opened the doors to their Integrated Therapy Centre in Broadmeadows, with the support of Property Industry Foundation and Lendlease.
With thirty years’ experience delivering identical services in Queensland, South Australia and New South Wales, it was only a matter of time before Act for Kids made their way to Victoria to make a difference to the lives to the 15,488 children that were confirmed as abused or neglected in Victoria last year.
The Foundation along with Lendlease were honoured to partner with Act for Kids and assist with the refurbishment of their Therapy Centre, along with a beautiful courtyard affectionately named Lilly’s Garden which will be completed early in the New Year.
Act for Kids is an important Charity Partner of the Foundation as they deliver vital programs and support to young people in our community through intensive integrated therapy with a psychologist, occupational therapist and speech pathologist to children that have experienced or are at risk of child abuse and neglect.
The official opening was held on Wednesday 24 October. Wendy Brakey from Property Industry Foundation, Joe Kokai from Lendlease, the Member for Broadmeadows, MP Frank McGuire, The Honourable Dr David Hamill AM, Chair of Act for Kids Board and Cr Karen Sherry of Hume City Council were in attendance for the opening.
We would like to thank Lendlease, their consulting team and contractors for generously donating their services and supplies to complete this project, with an in-kind value of over $300,000.
