Boardroom Breakfast - Hosted by Simon Beirne, State Chief Executive, Colliers International
June 2018 QLD
On Tuesday 19th June over 40 senior industry professionals attended a Boardroom breakfast kindly hosted by Simon Beirne, State Chief Executive of Queensland, Colliers International.
During the presentation, Rosemary Smithson, CEO of the Property Industry Foundation discussed the impact the Foundation has made to date and the future plans for making a difference.
Guests also heard from Michael Mazza, Development Manager of Frasers Property and Sarah Davies, Senior Consultant at Urbis who spoke about the Foundation lodging a DA for the development of the first PIF House in Brisbane.
As a direct result of this project, 3 families and 6 individuals will be taken off the street and put into this transitional housing for a period of 12 months to 2 years. By partnering with Brisbane Youth Service, who will operate the site, these young people will be supported through BYS operated mentoring programs with the view to moving into more permanent housing following their stay in the PIF House.
Annemaree Callander, CEO of Brisbane Youth Services then spoke about the significant impact the PIF House would not only have on the 3 families and 6 individuals that would initially be placed there, but for the many families and individuals for years to come.
The Foundation's aim with the Boardroom Breakfast series is to bring together an array of senior industry figures to network and speak about the important work that the Foundation is doing to make a tangible difference to youth homelessness.
