Gifts bring Christmas cheer at The Settlement

This week National Donor, SHAPE, visited one of our Sydney Charity Partners The Settlement to deliver around 60 gifts, specially donated and wrapped by SHAPE staff. The presents ranged from crafts to Barbie dolls.

Additionally, four gifts were given to The Settlement for use by all the young people, these included two guitars, a drum kit and a craft set with crayons.

Property Industry Foundation CEO Kate Mills said visits like this “are about enabling people and companies to give back.”

SHAPE Australia CEO Peter Marix-Evans said the gift giving tied in with the company’s reconciliation plan.

“We encourage and actively support aboriginal young people to work with us through the apprenticeship program,” he said.

“We would like to see a target of 3-4% of aboriginal youth working with us in the next few years.

“We want to do our part in giving back to the community. Today makes for a great synergy between the Foundation and SHAPE Australia."
