Construction Networking builds homes

Two hundred people attended our 2019 Construction Networking Event last night with Q&A panel of top people from the sector giving key insight.  In our pledge auction, companies came forward with offers of help for our two new homes in Kingsford and Toongabbie. The event was sponsored by Central Plumbing, Heyday Group, Zenith and TC Commercial.

The Q&A panel that included Nicholle Sparkes (Frasers Property Australia), Jason Vieusseux (Mirvac), Alison Mirams (Roberts Pizzarotti), Daniel Murphy (Multiplex) with Ben Wilmot (The Australian) deftly MC’ing, provided a great discussion with excellent insights about the future for the industry. The panel covered technology, improved work practices, the challenges of the high suicide rate in construction and moving to a 5-day week.

In the pledge auction, companies also had the opportunity to support us in building two of our newest homes in development, PIF House Kingsford and PIF House Toongabbie.

ANZ has pledged $50,000 for PIF House Kingsford, which will be a crucial boost to the project as a whole. ANZ has come on board as a partner with a view to giving PIF $50,000 each year for three years to go towards building projects.

Top Knot Carpentry publicly pledged to do the carpentry on the Toongabbie build with other companies keen to be involved.

Numerous companies came forward to discuss how they could be involved in the projects.

Our goal is to build 125 bedrooms by 2021. We have so far built 56 rooms with 36 in development. Any donation or in-kind support you can provide will make a big difference to meeting the target. Please contact our CEO Kate Mills if you would llike to contribute.
