Taking action on youth homelessness

All

In April people and organisations around the country, including us, promoted Youth Homeless Matters Day on 18 April. It’s a day that encourages everyone to take action to reduce youth homelessness – and that’s exactly what we do as an organisation.

The day ties in very much to our mission to bring together people and resources from across the property and construction industry to make tangible difference to the serious and persistent problem of youth homelessness. One of our key aims is to build safe bedrooms for young people who have no secure place to sleep. We have the goal to build 125 bedrooms between 2017-2021 and we have already completed 29. This is in addition to the many bedrooms we have built in our 21 year history. In that time we have given over $18 million to 30 charity partners who work directly with homeless young people to provide vital support programs. These are very tangible ways that we are rebuilding young lives.

If you were not able to take action on Youth Homelessness Matters Day, it’s not too late. Click here to donate and do your bit for young people in desperate need.
