Providing a national solution to youth homelessness

Every night across Australia over 44,000 young people are homeless. The mission of the Foundation is to make a tangible difference to this serious and persistent national problem.

In 1996, the leaders of the industry formed the Property Industry Foundation to mobilise its resources to assist charitable organisations providing services to at-risk and homeless young people. Our Melbourne office opened in 2008 and the Brisbane office opened in 2013.

We have been able to develop a strong network of national and state donors.  In each state, key people from across the sector give their time and expertise to serve on our National Board and Board of Advisors in each state.

Under our PropertyBlitz, PAExclusive and Community Focus programs, young volunteers organise and take part in workabees, events and drives to collect winter woollens and toiletries for young people sleeping rough.

At every level, we’re engaging our industry nationally to help rebuild young lives.

Across the three states, we have provided funding to 30 Charity Partners. Our state committees select sustainable programs and projects at respected charities to ensure the Foundation’s resources are used effectively.
