The funds raised will contribute to Wayside Chapel for the sponsorship of a much needed youth counsellor.
The Wayside Chapel was established in Sydney in 1964, by the Reverend Ted Noffs, as a demonstration of unconditional love and care for the lonely, homeless, abused and dispossessed. It quickly became known for its emphasis on self help recovery, and encouragement for all to speak and act on social issues.

It is a sacred place for people of all faiths and of none, where the human journey of the whole family of humanity is celebrated and all creation loved and respected.

The Wayside Chapel, over its 40 year history, has been behind some of Australia's most far-reaching and innovative developments in social welfare. It pioneered the initiation of Australia's first 24 hour crisis centre in 1968, the first Drug Referral Centre in 1967, co-founded the Aboriginal Affairs Foundation in 1962 and Lifeline in 1963, and also started the Life Education Centre, Shepherds of the Street and Hands-On Health services.

At The Wayside Chapel we provide non-judgmental support for all people in our community; young people, the homeless, the elderly, victims of domestic violence, abuse and substance addictions and people with mental health issues.
We place a great deal of emphasis on self help recovery and we provide support through an often difficult journey. Much of this is achieved through working with a number of other organisations, such as South Eastern Sydney Area Health Service, Mental Health Services, NSW Health Department, The Homeless Persons' Network, The Station, St Vincent's Hospital and others.
