The
Property Industry Foundation purchased four 6-bedroom houses from
the Olympic Village and transported them over 100 kilometres to a
country environment at Sutton Forest in the Southern Highlands.
The houses were joined and customised to achieve two 10-bedroom
houses for the kids of Youth Off The Streets. One house will be
used for accommodation for the training of youth worker
apprentices, and the other as a residential care unit similar to
Canyonleigh. The program’s aim is to return the child into the
community to lead a safe, healthy and respectful life.
The PIF would like to thank the Future Directions Group (Young
People in Property) who helped prepare the houses for the kids at
a Workabee in 2001.
